Sydney Pollack was diagnosed with cancer about nine months ago.
Recently Pollack played law firm boss Marty Bach opposite George Clooney in "Michael Clayton," which he also co-produced and received seven Oscar nominations. Sydney Pollack died of cancer Monday in Los Angeles at the age of 73 with his faily by his side.
