::: Too Complex To Comprehend :::

What am I?
Who am I?
My race, my color?
Too Complex to Comprehend
Nigga
Negro
Colored
Black
African American
Theress no color, no name for what I am
Who I am
I'm just too complex to comprehend
Theress no book, no class, or film that can tell you or explain what I am
Who I am
Complexity on top of complexity
Much too much for the human mind to comprehend
Pain, struggle, hardships, disappointments
Setback after setback
Year after year
A tower of deferred dreams
Isolation, abuse, disease, stereotypes
Hard ... very hard to succeed
To live-- to die
To be different than the rest of the world
Yet not considered special or unique
But thought upon as unequal or less than
A second class citizen
A challenge everyday
Just to live, breathe, walk in peace
To be a minority
To be different
To wake up every morning with a different skin complexion
Different hair texture
Different facial feature
Different body built
Than the rest of the world
Yet to still be proud, to be strong, to deal... and live
They may consider me to be...
A Negro
Colored
Black
African-American
But forever my race and color ...
Who I am?
What I am?
Far too much for the human mind to comprehend...
Complexity on top of complexity
Too complex to comprehend
