I walk
A vessel of morbid curiosities
Empty stomach and buzzing blood.
I am fed by the heavy air
that carries the scent of fermenting blossoms
The end of birth, the beginning of stagnation and charm.

There are no rows of corn,
no reminders of fields of fallen thoughts
or of vastly simple eternities
Only boxes stacked high with dreams that await a mortal shove
And the frothing bite of survival that enslaves us to the temptation of escape.

Now
the sun blocks whispers of mortality
And I am determined to match its shadow
Word for word, hour for hour
Even amidst the sea of bodies that writhe in agonistic ecstasy
For every inch of me wishes not to exist
But to live.
