Unexpected
love finds me
an unfulfilled haunting

a feeble attempt or eradication
weakened by the chemistry of the heart
rarely does love find me
strong and resilient despite
rejection came
and gone
unexpected I remain
loving
once thought to be wrong
now the only choice
love changes
unloved unchanged
I remain alone in my chilling bed
untouched in heart
lost
unrequited
empty to feel
to silence my heart
my mind
refuses
hopeless yet I continue
unwillingly I wish
hope
with no possibility
no hope
I continue to love
one that shouldn’t be
at start
unexpected to begin
I sat watching
connecting
thinking
working
dreaming
words are what remains
my only connection
to so
against all my preconception
against my better judgment
I still
remain
