::: Who I am :::

I am
black man
from the cancer to Capricorn tropics
descendant of Jamaica’s massive
field Negro pedigree
filled with arrogant pride
I walk upright
with my head held high
because I know paradise
use to be my daily life
I know I was a King with a Queen on my side
but now I’m a nigguh with my b*tch
down to ride
was a representation of wealth through health
but now I’m repping that decrepit 8 section
poor black man in this rich white land
so when my day start it crumble
from the pressure of the struggle
of being the product of what was
once smuggled from jungles
it got my heart troubled
I am cut from the same blood soaked cloth
all my brothers and sisters who
were caught and brought across
the ocean in iron wrought chains
civil rights were sought
and fought for flames of freedom
we need that light
to warm us and show the way
of beauty in being B.L.A.C.K.
so now we are the once and forever
oppressed mimics of our oppressors
needing something greater
and wanting what’s lesser
don’t call them racist
they don’t love us enough to hate us
so I stay impatient
like sharks following slave ships
waiting to stir up the rage
in my race so complacent
something must be wrong
if its not white
how we got the strongest song
but the weakest fight?
