Naw snitches don’t get stitches,
they end up dead.
Or your fresh white T,
might just end up red.
So we all keep it movin
nobody heard what he said,
nobody saw who did it,
nobody speaks to the feds.
Don’t violate the code ‘til it pertains to you
then you try to solve the case like its a game of clue
cause now its your son,
your baby they wanna shoot
so after you tell I hope you pack up and move.
Cause it’s not safe in these streets.
Regardless of what you heard on the news is what you see!
And what about the crime that didn’t make it to TV.
I heard shots lettin off last night while I was sleep
The blue and whites are ridin’ by on bikes in the hood
the d-boys are posted up heavy in the hood
but Still somebody died last night in the hood
and ya’ll really want me to believe it’s all good?
Naw I’m good
But let me ask you,
Mr. Mayor what would you do?
Mr. Ed Davis what if it was you?
Mr. “Together we can”, Mr. first Black man to win
if your life was on the line,
would you drop a dime?
No I couldn’t walk in your shoes
but could you walk in mine?
Could you live of Columbia Rd. or Talbotl ave?
Could you live on Heath St.,
Where kids are getting stabbed?
I don’t see you at Stash’s or in Dudley at yum yums
you don’t go to Ugis to get your steak & cheese subs.
Don’t get me wrong Boston,
For my city I got madd love
But until we stick together,
the streets will continue to shed blood.
We cant wait on politicians and rely on cops
peace starts with us if we want violence to stop
But I can’t blame you,
‘cause in fear we do live,
but someone has to speak up
for the safety of our kids.
So next time you hear something,
act like you did
and next time you see something
ask yourself,
would you snitch?
