::: The Godfather :::

I am an avid Godfather fan and I found myself in the video game store back in march with my boy B. Carter. We were looking at games and never a fan of used technology I saw a used copy of the Godfather for XBOX. I picked it up and flipped it to the back. I mean, The Godfather is the ultimate "hustler movie' and I figured the game couldn't be half bad so after asking ole boy a thousand questions, I copped it and took it home...where it sat...and sat.... and sat...unplayed for 6 months. That's the life a new millennium hustler. I work full time and part time I do a little freelance writing and event planning.

It wasn't until August that I finally had a chance to pull out the game and I wasn't disappointed. First off, the game follows Godfather Part I almost to the letter. The creative genius comes in the way that they insert you and your character into the story seamlessly. It's tight because I can dress homeboy and change up the character to look more like a man I'd date (haha), but let's not dwell on the boring details of my mafia fantasies, how about the fighting, the hits and the money.

The game gives you more than a few ways to get paid, and thus pay the Godfather. You start as an outsider and can work your way up starting as an Associate all the way to Don if you so chose. You can knock over trucks transporting goods, extort business owners to pay tribute to the Corleone's and raid warehouses. The occasional thug might also pay you a little extra to take care of light work: beat someone up, drive someone somewhere.

It's easy to kill a few hours on a rainy day with this one and a bonus is that the game even has clips from the original movie. As you progress the clips are unlocked for you to watch.

For my first used game, EVER, I am feelin it and can say that if you like any of the similar games of hustilin' (True Crime, Scarface, etc.) you will be lovin' this one.
