an old man once told me
that I would grow to be
the man I was chose to be
and would hold close to me
those who meant the most to me
said id see things I wasn’t supposed to see
but that was the path that was chose for me
like the wind there ain’t no holding me
adversity only emboldens me
so its best to roll with me
or just roll the tree
smoke away your pain
no sympathy
truth is its simply
recorded digitally
so you can hold it mentally
remember the beat
and you ain’t never got to look at your feet
remember the beef
but you ain’t really looking for me
