Old man presses the elevator button and turns to smile at me
I give him one back.
the sound of his skin crackling in my head
still reminds me of someone.

black hat, shoes tied ,
heavy coat and a cane
with no use.
simple laughter, small talk is
relative and unlikely
happy, predictable cynicism.

old man and his wisdom
left with just a twinkle in his eye.

still reminds me of someone who died.
