::: The Best Me :::

I am not a good poet
I don’t always know where the flow is
I don’t write rhymes, I tell stories of life
I want my life to mean something to someone, to anyone
Just like every woman, I want someone to love me Unconditionally

Until then, I’m gonna’ try and find peace in my own skin
Even though I sometimes sin, I still dream of going to heaven when I die
In this life, there are no guarantees, yet the possibilities are endless
I am not a good poet but
I wanna be a good person because we all know this world could use a few “good ones”

When I woke up this morning my eyes were filled with tears
My love don’t love me
My heart was broken
Even though I woke up with eyes filled with tears and a heart that was broken...
^My eyes still opened.
So I refuse to let one day go by
Without opening my lips and givin’ praise to the Most High
For allowing me to open my eyes one more time

I’m not a good poet but
I’m gonna try and be a good friend, a good lover and a good mother
We all know a good mother is hard to find.¦
I think we all know the kinds
Feeding their newborns spoonfuls of spoiled fruit
Allowing their wombs to be infested by
A dirty seed, a rotten breed... a deadbeat
Nutritious meals are replaced for designer shoes on their mommas’ feet
People are carrying around false hopes in material things
Holding on to just about anything to make them feel complete

So right now, I’m gonna sound off my megaphone of truth
Let it give birth to the proof
That there is a light in this world even though this world is filled with people who
Just don’t Care about anyone but themselves
Its time to take respect and love off the top shelves and
Put on our armor cuz we are at war
Not just with guns but violence and drugs and
With our young ones looking up for role models when there are none
Yeah I’m not the best poet but
My goal in life is not to write the best poetry but to simply be
The best
