What does it feel like to be alone
What does it feel like to have nothing
What does it feel like to be hungry
I've felt these, it's not a feeling to be
Emotions and thoughts race through your head
Thinking it would be all over if you could just shed
Your life away and the feeling would be gone
Never to experience the pain and agony
That has haunted you for so long
The visions you get before you sleep
The knot in your stomach way down deep
Forever having the feeling of being scared
Lights out with only darkness to stare
I despise these feelings
I want them to disappear
Like a magic act, now they gone but they always appear
"Why me?" to God I ask
Do I deserve this, is there something in the past
I try to be a good person, I hope you can see
Caring. For those people around me
I put myself second, I know. I know.
I should be first, then I can show
But its not in my nature, that's how I was raised
God help me and give me the strength and praise
In the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit
I open my eyes, do I really deserve it
Living day to day putting up a front
That nothings wrong, I cant be blunt
To my boys cause they wouldn't understand
The hurt I feel, they'd just say, man...
So I keep it closed up tight
Dealing with a day and ending the night
Strive to make good out of bad
The experiences I’ve had
But for life
Everything happens for a reason right
There must be a path
A design that was meant
For me to learn from
And overcome
I think I’ve been through it all
But not at all
When will the darkness turn to light
Hands together
God peel this life, a new chapter so I can begin this.
