awake and reborn his cells rejuvenate with awareness
thoughts return as the brain recovers from auto-pilot
distant whispers from a silhouette flicker fast and dissolve
dream cells disconnect images from eyeball synapse
and return to dormant transparency
only to be triggered again through the process of deep sleep
but still leaving echoes of dialogue that makes no sense
like friendly conversations with relatives and dead friends
he rises from his pseudo-womb to see the day
to feel the warmth of the new rays from a dying star
that no longer exists although it's shine persists to stay the course
so he's lost in the illusion of a light that has traveled far
far enough to remain a vital force, coloring his vision
and fueling his mind to find the time to save the source
thoughts reorganize from disarray to distinct
he senses his reflection may soon become extinct
like a dying star that was rarely seen
projecting instead darkness;
to color and fuel some other loner's
lonely dream
