I Didn’t Know

I didn’t know I was different
till I was thirty three
when I was hired to work
in a well known store
back in the early 90’s
because
my skin was lighter than everyones…
I was the token

Token…
What is that word…
A thing of affection?
or
a word of shame?
well
I felt shame
and hurt
and
disappointment…

Disappointment that I was so
naive
Disappointment that
in this day and age
tokens
still exist
and
most importantly
I wondered…
How LONG will they?

It doesn’t matter
what colour
the token is
or shape
it takes
what matters is
we should have
NO NEED
of tokens
except
ones of love…
or
to get on the bus or subway…

I Am Not….I AM!!!

You who look at me
with
such contempt
You who does
not know
my soul
How
my heart beats!

I am more
than
my size
my weight
my sex
my orientation
my colour
my race
my creed
my religion…

I am
the force that creates life
I am
the wind that pushes the clouds and moves the oceans
I am
the milk of the earth that feeds millions
I am
the comforter who heals ills
I am
the worrier that conquers tyrants and protects the weak
I am
the fire that burns away the cold and warms the soul
I am
love…pure…indestructible…infinite…love

I AM YOU…YOU ARE ME…ONE…THE SAME TOGETHER!!!

Thoughts for the day: on our profitable life

The way things are
in this declining empire
and our thoughts that transpire
about the rules & “choices”
that we have are not our own.

They are the products of those
who control all that is around us.

When you live mentally inside a cage
it is hard to see “outside thinking.”

“What profit a man if he gains
the whole world, but loses his soul?”
—the Bible

In this our land that which is produced
requires an excess profit has to be made
by someone. That is the root of our problem.

Analysis: To see clearly that the material
interest of those that produce is in conflict
with those who control production.

Long ago, something was imagined that was
rational, human & democratic, and
other humans modified, distorted, & destroyed
that vision.

Karl Marx upon reading a contemporary
interpretation of his writing,(paraphrasing,)
“one thing is sure, I’m not a Marxist.”

Jesus, today would probably look at what
is created in his name by men & say,
“one this is sure, I’m not a Christian.”

“In the Soviet Union capitalism triumphed
over communism. In America capitalism
triumphed over democracy.”
—-Nora Ephron

It is time we seriously consider &
move toward a better economic system that
has as its goal the enrichment of all mankind,
not just the few.

Black Arts

Ways that you have. Magicianary.
Effort must have lost all appeal.
I wonder about you. And the way fingertips
dance across these follicles – all waiting for the chance

Know, that pride leaves me.
No space when that silhoutte enters.
Dawns of an old night repeat beautifully,
in peace with the ongoing surprise

May I ask? What brings the dark out to play?
What makes sacrifice and reception taste the same?
What is life, now that magic can overtake?

I’m… willing to find out.
…Now we wait.
Seeing who’s will is in love enough to break

My Rapture

I will not live my last hours
in fear
but full of love…
I will hold close what and who is
dear to me…
Appreciate all that has
been given to me
in this life…
These are not the end days
but
the beginning of new ones…
I am not sad or fearful…
I am happy…
I am love…

THE RAPTURE

Welcome to the final hours of the apocalypse. It is time to see what really matters when time is truly of the essence. When twenty-four hours fades into twelve hours and that handful of places that you once had to be all mesh into one.
Will where you go?. Will you spend your final hours with a group of friends and family, will you spend them alone, or will you spend them with that one person who means more to you than the world itself?
Will you trap yourself in a moment of fear as the last minutes tick into seconds, or will nothing else matter but that moment and the rest of the world can go F itself like it’s already doing. In a moment your life can change as the old saying goes and this happens to people everyday, whether for good or bad, whether a huge tragedy or a mere inconvenience, whether a moment of happiness or a lifetime of pleasure our life’s can change within seconds. And if it so happens to change today, and the world truly does become a place of its former self. I wish to all that survive to refrain from being as ugly as the world maybe. I hope that you think back to your moments before the end and that they were wonderful.

I hope that boy had finally shed is fears and declared his love for the girl next door. I hope that man stuck between two loves, his job and his family made the right decision. I hope that married couple who had been together forever got to lay in bed and hold each other one last time. And I hope that you, you reading this have found your happiness. If the world does not end today than I hope that this has scarred enough fear out of you to live life. Tell that girl that you love her, drop the job that does not matter and pursue your dreams, open your eyes to new experiences and indulge them before its too late. Time is not guaranteed, and I would hate to see you place things for a later date that may never come. So live for today, and not an unpromised tomorrow.

What do I do with these feelings?

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People says, “Behavior is a product of conscience choice, rather than a product based on feelings.”

The Secret says feelings can be used as a tool to let us know if we are in the right frequency. It also says that we can shift our feelings and start producing a positive frequency.

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “No one can hurt you without your consent.”

Challenge Day facilitators say that feelings if not expressed fill up your internal balloon. When this balloon is filled or pops we take our frustrations out on the people that are closest to us. They claim that talking about our feelings gives us a source of strength.

Gandhi said, “They cannot take away our self respect if we do not give it to them.”

Eckhart Tolle says feelings are temporary and that they too will change with time.

I believe that when it comes to feelings we need to be aware of them.
I believe good feelings should be acknowledged and shared.
I believe bad feelings should be acknowledged and shared.
I believe to deny feelings would lead to pain and suffering in the future.
I believe we need to be able to separate ourselves from feelings.
I believe we need to realize that feelings come from within.
I believe that we should have the ability for feelings to change over time.
I believe we should try to discover why they exist.

Feelings make us alive. Awareness of Feelings makes us human.

Society’s Manifesto

Most of our suffering happens in our minds
It comes from assumptions, expectations, and miscommunications
I am sorry to say we are not going to reach collective enlightenment in our lifetime

Some major external catastrophes could help shake up our stupid priorities
I have my fingers crossed for 2012
We could really use a global reality check

Our brains are to individually entrenched to see the bigger picture
We cannot progress with the stagnate thinking of the past
It is almost 2010 and people are still starving and homeless

I think Maslow got it wrong.
I don’t believe that self actualization is the top of the pyramid.
I believe community actualization should be the top of the hierarchy.

I purpose the Heterarchy of Wants
“heterarchy is defined as “the relation of elements to one another when they are unranked or when they possess the potential for being ranked in a number of different ways”)”

When people start to realize how connected everyone is
Then basic needs like clean water and food will become problems of the past.
Once people’s basic needs are met then each individual can fulfill their greater purpose
Their greater purpose will satisfy their individual wants which won’t be based on greed.

The way we are living is unsustainable
The options are simple
Avoid change and get devoured
Embrace change and get empowered

My job is to find out a way to spread social consciousness
To the planet before we kill ourselves
If I do not proceed with my calling then I have
Committed social suicide

I would not be the me I want to be if
I did not help stop this crisis

Ask me about the
Social Clinic, The Year Round Outdoor School, and Live Action Career Fair
The process is the end of suffering

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterarchy

My Civic Duty

Why do only the privileged reap the benefits of psychiatric counseling, executive coaching, process consulting, private schools, and teacher’s aides?
The cycle continues
Those with more money get greater attention and resources.

To charge money for help is to perpetuate our capitalistic monetary culture.
Knowledge and help should be free and used to help us all.
Imagine having to pay a firefighter before they save you from your burning house

The health care and education institutions are broken.
At worst they are unsustainable and at best inefficient

We should provide our services for the betterment of society.
Social Scientists and Teachers should know better than to charge for their services.

I wonder what Karl Marx would say if he realized that his books needed to purchased?
Particularly by advantaged college students only for the purpose to fulfill a social science requirement for their business degree?

Change has to happen.
Why can’t we be proactive?
How bad to things need to be before the paradigm shifts?
Why does our country only come together in the face of tragedy and not opportunity?

Once we can democratize help then we can grow towards the future.
We all have gifts that need to be shared

It is not until white, middle class, heterosexual, Protestant, able bodied males
Are being affected by these difficult economic times
That our collective condition finally acknowledges national attention

When it gets to this point it’s called a Recession
For most it’s called Life.
