::: Nothing More :::

There is nothing I would like more
than to lay open my palm to eyelids
sending butterfly kisses from the heart.
I can see us unfolding pearls on a cliff.
Indulging in red wine and goat cheese.
The lush soil cakes our fiery souls
to color airy body’s finest hairs.
But, just about everything breaks.
Wine glasses do not stand a chance.
Neither do promises of butterfly kisses.
Sooner or later the weather changes
and batting eyelids turn to rain.
Today, black clouds rule the world.
