Tell her there’s more life to live.
Show her the insects in a flower
or a pearl necklace of bees
swimming ‘round a plum tree.
Certainly spring is proof
life is worth this f*cking sh*t.
I don’t mean to sound glib.
You must speak her language.
Convince her of possibilities.
The sunrise forming a lining
across the mountain range.
Tell her life is a goddamn pain
which we all endure. Implore her
before she walks through the door.
