Morning Reflection

Few things I like more than an empty house and a stack of books
The way I steal the wisdom from these words some may call me a crook
Rightfully so, knowledge stolen
My eyes beat that book! Pages swollen
It was a friendly duel; duel indeed
I used to cut school, go home and read
Once read a whole book while sitting in a tree
It was a small book but great to me

My eyes are heavy
But my thoughts are light
My past is calm
But my future excites
No job, no classroom to attend
Inked paper, my most trusted friend
Always here through work and play
My notebook hangs on each word I say
Her pages always remember my words
Some wise, some kind, and some absurd
Always here, always here, always here with me
When I look back on her pages, it’s me I see
She is a wonderful reflection of myself
My frozen thoughts now live on a shelf
Page after page, after page I’ve filled
Book after book, after book I’ve killed

Mind Leaking

My soul gleams bright with persistence
It’s a good thing, for my dreams are resistant
Peter Pan, Never Never Land
I shall give up never never man
Keep on fighting keep on writing
My soul is delighting as my words are reciting
Books are a constant feature
I am a knowledge leacher
It seems the words I teach
Are much stronger when I’m out of reach
As my thoughts are leak’n
I just continue speak’n
I am just a simple man
As relentless as the waves attacking the sand
The ocean and its almighty power
And I’m coast’n in this now mighty hour
Pleasure is sweet but pain is sour
Now rise to your feet, blossom like a flower
There is much power in the words we use
But some just devour and verbally abuse
We all make an impact, be mindful how you choose
Though we remain intact, we all must lose
I recall my actions, sin by sin
My past is split like fractions, lose and win
I tear myself apart, because I love the healing
Then mend my broken heart, because union is appealing
I’m in search of that one special friend
We sacrifice hurt as our hearts we lend
Step by step, I trek on in this life
Surrounded by cause and affect, we all pay a price
I may be weak, but my faith is strong
Won’t be failed by my feet, I will push on
Until there’s no where else to go, then I stop
Many more seeds left to sow, flourish shall my crop

Late into the Night the Vision Shown bright

Just because it’s different, don’t make it carry the burden of better or worse,
Just be grateful that you got it, and store it up in your knowledge purse,
Thank God for the powers, store’em up and disperse,
For every sweet there’s a sour, for every blessing a curse,
Get better or worse, quench hunger or thirst,
Learn to balance action and rest if you wish to be first,
Oh, and if you wish to be first, then learn to be last,
And remember that shining stars always burn themselves to ash,
For nothing lasts forever, except “Forever”,
And nothing should never be said except for “never”,
life’s a risk, so take a chance, do the twist, make a dance,
Keep strong, live long, return to the source
Wisdom so familiar like, “Oh of course”,
Be smart, have heart, hone you intuition
To hell with circumstances overcome you’re disposition
Listen, I’m hiss’n, it’s truth you can’t be miss’n,
It’s all inside purify and watch it glisten,
“Seek first the kingdom of God, and everything else will be given unto you”, and if you steal you get robbed, for others cries should never be fun to you,
I run to you, arms opening wide, you smile and gesture, then brush me aside, I cried, the ocean that day, salty and wet, exhausted I lay,
Deep inside a part of me died, but I can move on because I know I tried,
I’m chase’n my destiny it’s try’n to hide,
Life’s a journey, and a hell of a ride,
Trust my intuition, in myself confide,
All I heard was the truth even though he lied,
My deciphering skills may prevent some kills,
Small glimpses of the future give my mind a thrill,
He’ll, never do the same you can’t predict a bull,
Bull, I don’t believe you,
How can my only choice be to carry you or leave you?
I need you, so I feed you, then build you up and lead you,
I can read you; you’re a book upon these eyes,
And if you look upon these eyes, you will know that souls rise,
And I’s be me, until the death of me,
And I’m to see, yet the best of me,
Cuz I’m try’n to leave, out the rest of me,
But my heart it bleeds, out this bloody ink,
So I stop to think……………
If I sleep tonight, I’ma wake refreshed,
And if I live I might, just die another death,
Unless, I get out alive O, this is what I strive fo,
live’n do or die no, give another trial,
You is in denial, have been for awhile,
Time to change you style, update your file,
I’ll, help if I can do so, a friend is really useful,
A friend is really useful, so help if you can do so
Shhh!
Some things are best take’n to the grave,
Discipline your tongue; make it behave,
Are you a slave to yourself? Or king of your domain?
Do you study by choice? Or do you work in vain?
I’m the Paradox Prophet, wanna get rich without profit?
If you’re hooked on the norm, I can help you get off it,
Flowing water never grows stale, the first step to success is fail,
Still waters run deep, joys of life are free, but don’t come cheap,
Sleep is to the body, what death is to the soul,
Restful rejuvenation, peace is the goal,
Forever changing the way, call to the wise men, drink what they have to say, think what they have to pray, God’s children are poor because the blessed have a price to pay,
Words are powerful, so speak and be strong,
Use’em to build so that strength will live on,
Come on, join our battle, share in our glory,
I sit, coil, and rattle, and face what’s before me,
And before me there were, many greats from the past,
Who mapped out their journey, so I could travel fast
Alas! New found land,
The eye in my mind, is speaking through my hand,
And, what it’s say’n can’t be denied,
Truth be told, it gets me high,
To read the rhymes, that I write,
They came to me like angels in the night

Roba of the Changes

There coughs the stars
The fading stories quench
Polished wisdom never hence,
Filing down clipped rows.

Grasp the bracketing particles
Rasping night air with a stare.
Row out to daunting crags where
A fallen rock is participle

To all sown seeds that flare
On windy paths now silent.
Vestiges reform our efforts curved
Out the stream’s muddied glare

Where past is ground pumice cleared
For fortresses hiding where relics seared
The story of convoluted traces
That bring in private a savior feared.

White Noise

If we are destined,
white noise will be our peak

Meshing, or, melding, back together
The taste – more than we could meet

Horizons lay dormant for you and yours, and for this moment

We could be, more
than a quenched flame
found among memories

We could be eternal, only dreaming
of boundaries.
And One

Cultivation

Once upon a time not too long ago
A servant my age was given some seeds to sow
He did all he could; he tried his best
He always had a feeling he would; turn out better that the rest
He was right in a way, but had a lot to learn
He was humbled one day, and had to wait his turn

He might not of wanted to wait
But he accepted his fate

Over time, strength and knowledge increased steady
He knew his time would come, and when it did he’d be ready
He proclaimed his faith through his word and his pen
But few wish to listen to unschooled young men
Discourage him; tie him in a knot
This just encouraged him, for his soul burned hot
Books became best friends; all he needed was time
Observed looks through his lens, the strongest of minds

No stranger to scripture, he turned his life over to the Lord
Walks head high in battle, but he carries no sword
You may ask how can he overcome, something of this magnitude
A good guy for sure, but one Bad Dude!
Ask many questions he’ll tell you no lies
Love, Faith, and Wisdom, the weapons of the Wise
Many had doubts; some called him a bum
Built a temple in his heart, there lied the Kingdom

Finally the time had come, he was ready to go
Never one to be dumb, he took his time, started slow
In a short time, he became skilled in his speech
They loved his lines, and he loved to teach
He sought out their minds, and taught their hearts to reach
Oh what a joy of mine, to hear this man preach

Because of him their dreams became near
Never before had they dreamed without fear
He taught the simple truths, no longer in school
Love your creator, not what is cool
Have faith in yourself, live what you know is right
Remove the ego and behold the light

Knowledge is Power; Wisdom is Peace
But Love is King!
So until your final hour, remember this please,
Love and Faith can accomplish anything!

By Choice, and no Choice at all.

I read by choice
And no choice at all
I read and rejoice
Though rejoiced I fall

I fall by choice
And no choice at all
I happily rejoice
When I rise from a fall

I rise by choice
And no choice at all
I rise and rejoice
As I stretch out tall

I stretch by choice
And no choice at all
I stretch my voice
To thy hearts I call

I call by choice
And no choice at all
I call and rejoice
Though rejoiced I fall

Corporate Speak

We have packaged all the deals,
though they are combustible,
into a great bundle that congeals
for your dining and dancing pleasure.

Please accept a token gratuity
before we eat your lunch.
We surge, we merge, and urge you to
remain silent and uninterested

in our gradual debasement of all
you hold dear. Is that clear?
You are not covered in any policy
we hold, but also you are not covered

in oil. Be grateful, just fold.
We could clue you in, but we hope
you remain clueless. Stand over there,
there will be some nugget bits

plus chits for you to sign
before all dignity is gone, & you
are in a bind. Hey, there is still music
as you know, and we as yet do not control

all its flow. Night gathers us high above.
Do not look up. Do not cough. Do not
organize against us,
for the gloves will come off.

Picnic Clatter

The distances have composed a message
that will continue to become clearer
as it rolls toward you, some days
silently, all oil and promise

and at other times the scraping
is overwhelming. Otherwise it blinks
like decaying neon on a roadside bar & grille.
Once Ruscha-like it dared resistance.

Hey, doc have the wheels come off?
We do fade in and out of coherence
as twilight approaches on its sliding
Potemkin boards of dismal science.

Placated by the tips of trees counted
out the windows flipping by on the ride
to dissolute summer and its relentless
beating against all tranquil defenses

brings to irresolution a quiet coma
and drinks at the picnic table. Light
chatter of no consequence follows the crumbs,
& bees, our knees touching to comfort our hearts.

one night stand

Rough surface
purplish pigmentation
deep sores on pale skin
but whats underneath it?
does beauty exist where scars live?
do your hands touch without judgement?
i feel the sensation of the articles of my clothing against my skin
they could grow and attach themselves to my jeans
and when you would unzip my pants they would rip off one by one
and blood would stream down my leg
i screamed for a flash of a second
inside my jeans there would be those sores
still attached
still thriving off my insecurities
and not your hands
while your hand are on my breast
scabs creep their way off my jeans, laying on the floor
sometimes it hurts to walk
and the water running down my skin, it irritates it
it happens at night
under the covers
when you are next to me
my hands become shy when touching your bare skin
your eyes can see right through the cracks in my skin
a bad preview for what you are about to see later..
for what you are about to scream later.
